Supporting the Digitising European Industry Strategy that envisages that any business in Europe has access to a Digital Innovation Hub at ‘working distance’, the DIH4CPS vision is that every business in Europe, regardless of its industrial and geographical background, and no matter of what size can fully benefit from digital innovations.

The initiative for Fostering DIHs for Embedding Interoperability in Cyber-Physical Systems of European SMEs (DIH4CPS) will help European enterprises overcome these innovation hurdles and establish Europe as a world leading innovator of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. DIH4CPS will create an embracing, interdisciplinary network of DIHs and solution providers, focussed on cyber-physical and embedded systems, interweaving knowledge and technologies from different domains, and connecting regional clusters with the pan-European expert pool of DIHs.

Supporting European SMEs to face innovation obstacles

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is an ecosystem still under development and characterised by the rise of advanced technologies such as IoT and AI that are collectively called cyber-physical systems (CPSs). CPSs include smart grid, autonomous vehicle systems, medical monitoring and automatic pilot avionics, and are based on the development of a network of digital innovation hubs (DIHs). The EU envisages attaining a leading global role in 4IR. The EU-funded DIH4CPS project intends to create an interdisciplinary network of DIHs and solution providers that focus on CPSs and embedded systems, interweaving understanding and technologies from diverse territories, and to connect it with European experts. The project will support European SMEs to overcome obstacles posed by innovative technology.
