This project aims to address several scientific and technological challenges towards the use of shuttle drones to perform launch and capture maneuvers of other vehicles or objects. A first scenario is considered where the shuttle drones cooperate with the vehicles to be launched or captured, either relaying information about their planned motion or actively synchronizing.

SOLSTICE answers the quest for stationary energy storage with two Na-Zn molten salt batteries, which operate at elevated temperature. The first concept benefits from the existing and successful ZEBRA® technology. Replacing their Ni-electrode by cheap and abundant Zn will only minimally affect other system parts thereby ensuring fast commercialisation.

The EU-funded VesselAI project plans to develop a framework that facilitates the modelling and prediction of ships’ behaviour. UNINOVA installs telemedicine system in Madeira. This telemedicine system is part of the “Madeira Digital Health and Wellbeing” initiative, which will be launched to the public on May 26, in Funchal.
UNINOVA - Institute for the Development of New Technologies at NOVA School of Science and Technology participates in a project that intends the robot "Júlia 1" to be able to decontaminate, in a practical and efficient way, large spaces, such as health units, factories, offices or shopping centers.
