For the paper presentation by the authors, there will be both an overhead projector and a data-show (with a notebook) in each session. There will also be one member of the local organization that will take care of the audiovisual equipment. So, just bring your presentation.

It is recommended that you give your floppy disk to any member of the organizing committee one day (or some hours) before your talk in order that your presentation is installed and tested beforehand, without loosing time during your presentation.

We would appreciate very much if you could send us by e-mail or bring with you a 4~5 lines CV so that the chairs of the sessions can introduce you before your presentation.

We are expecting that all the authors who intend to use the data-show will make use of the MS Power Point software. MS Office 97 and the Winzip will be available in the notebooks.

The presentation time per paper is 25 min + 5 minutes for questions / discussions.

Internet access

Most of (not all !) the hotel rooms of PRAIATUR has a plug ("RJ45") to connect your PC to the Internet. So, you can access it using your notebook without needing a modem. The connection is direct - and free of charge for the guests -. In the worst case, you will have to configure your computer / browser according to the hotel's proxy specifications (you can take this information at the hotel when you arrive there). However, in principle, it will not be necessary. Yet, the hotel has enough cables for the rooms.

Of course your PC must have an adapter and must be prepared to use the TCP/IP protocol. Besides that, if you intend to use FTP, please bring your application for that.

In addition, there will be two PCs connected to the Internet accessing Web-mail in the Hotel Hall.

Do not expect very high speed connections ...

Florianopolis works in 220 Volts. However, the hotel has also available 110 Volts plugs in all rooms.

For those ones who did not ask for the receipts and whose receipts should be in a different name, please let us know about that. We plan to include the original receipts inside the bags.

Please note that although the recommended airport is Florianopolis, the conference will take place in the "Praia dos Ingleses", a small holiday village, and not in the city of Florianopolis.

The Brazilian currency is "Real". It is about half of a US$.

Most of the international credit cards are accepted at the hotels, restaurants and shops. However, for your day-to-day, we strongly suggest you to bring some US dollars in cash. In spite of being a small village, Ingleses Beach has some places where you can make change without any problems and there is at least one VISA machine (hopefully working).
