PRODNET II PROJECT WAS OVER!
PRODNET project was over in September 30. We would like to say THANK YOU all,
for your contribution and cooperation during these last three years. The consortium faced many very complicated scenarios,
but fortunatelly the PRODNET team spirit was strong enough to handle all unexpected situations that came across our path during the project.
However, there is one final task to be accomplished, which is the PRO-VE'99 Conference. We wish all
partners have a good presentation in PRO-VE'99.

have been launched and some preliminary results are becoming available. In this context, the goals of this
workshop are twofold: first to increase the awareness of SMEs on this new paradigm, and second to
compare experiences and approaches of different research projects.

BASYS'2000 Conference - Annoucement and Call for Papers
In the sequence of successful BASYS´95 (held in Vitoria, Brazil), BASYS´96 (held in Lisbon, Portugal),
and BASYS´98 (held in Prague, Czech Republic) we are pleased to announce the fourth of this series of
conferences. This time we are aiming to present developments and experiences for balanced automation in
production and transportation systems. Balanced automation aims to achieve reference architectures and
development approaches that integrate in a proper way technical solutions and human involvement. We are
convinced that similar problems with respect to active human participation in automation systems can be
found in both areas, production and transportation. In particular, computer based assistance systems
supporting human decision making can benefit from recent developments in intelligent agent systems, virtual organizations and knowledge management. The
conference will combine academic and industrial aspects. It is the intention to bridge the gap and to promote
an integrated view on research and industrial application.
