The Product Data Technology Advisory Group, short PDTAG, was founded as a CIM Europe Interest Group in early 1992 under the auspices of ESPRIT CIME with the objective to give advice and recommendations on European developments in Product Data Technology to industry and the research community, and to the responsible CEC officials.

Since July 1994 PDTAG has become an Accompanying Measure of ESPRIT (ESPRIT project 9049: PDTAG-AM ).

Impact

It is expected that the activities of PDTAG-AM will significantly improve the rapid acceptance and practical use of modern PDT methodology, based on international standards and ready to benefit European developments in advanced product data applications. These activities will in particular accompany the introduction of the methodology based on the new standard STEP.

The results of the project will be exploited by the European PDT community, based on the immediate and lasting results of the project. These include documented and publicized results of workshops, conference proceedings, teaching material, reference material on PDT standards, PDT awareness information, and a PDT project database. Access to this information will be facilitated as much as possible.

How can I get involved?

PDTAG is seeking the active support of individuals and companies in Europe who want to support advancing developments in Product Data Technology. If you wish to participate in these activities, you can do the following:

Members of PDTAG

The tasks and activities of PDTAG-AM are performed by the PDTAG-AM Plenary and in the Workpackages. Currently the PDTAG Plenary has 22 members representing a cross-section of the European PDT industries.
