Current projects

Acronym, Title, Brief description, Duration, URL

MDO: Development of a MDO Methodology for Blow Molded Automotive Parts (2000-2003) http://mdo.cscwid.org/

Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) is a methodology for the design of complex engineering systems that are governed by mutually interacting physical phenomena and made up of distinct interacting subsystems. These subsystems are usually implemented in different computers connected through a network, and the design is done by a multidisciplinary design team. The objective of this research project is to develop a MDO methodology and a distributed software environment for mechanical engineering design optimization. Agent technology and Internet/Web technologies are to be used for system integration, i.e., all subsystems are to be wrapped into software agents, while the user interfaces will be Web-based.

BCKOA: Business-Centered Knowledge-Oriented Architecture for eMarketplace and eBusiness (2000-2002)

The proposed project will focus on developing an agent-based Business-Centered Knowledge-Oriented Architecture (BCKOA) for eMarketplace and eBusiness. The objective is to develop a software environment that is semantically rich and describes the organization and the interconnection amongst software components, business objects, services to classify and locate business objects, location and organization of application software; the interactions between the business model and each of these components.

ABIMS: Agent-Based Intelligent Manufacturing Scheduling (2002-2004)

This project is to develop pre-commercial software on agent-based distributed manufacturing scheduling for ETO/MTO industry.
