----------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PAPERS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ETFA'2003 9th IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation September 16-19, 2003, Lisbon, Portugal http://www.uninova.pt/etfa2003/ Track on Computational Intelligence in Industrial and Factory Automation This track focuses on Computational Intelligence technologies and their application, in particular to industrial and factory automation systems. AI techniques have proved to be a major asset in increasing efficiency and productivity of industrial and other computer supported businesses. Traditional AI tools such as expert systems have been enriched with more recent techniques, such as evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy systems or neural networks to mention only a few. Authors submitting to this track are encouraged to present work using emerging AI techniques, but not excluding traditional approaches. A blend of these seemingly different views is sought in this track and we feel that interesting ideas and debates will result from discussion. Applications in industry in general and in particular in factory automation are encouraged. Some suggested topics (other relevant ones are welcome): - Expert Systems - Fuzzy Systems - Neural Networks - Genetic Algorithms - Chaos - Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems - Industrial Applications of Intelligent Systems ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION OF PAPERS Papers are to be submitted electronically. For further details, please consult the conference web pages. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- AUTHOR'S SCHEDULE Deadline for submission of full papers: April 30, 2003 Notification of papers acceptance: June 8, 2003 Final manuscripts due: July 8, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TRACK CHAIRS Luís Correia, New University of Lisbon (Luis.Correia@di.fct.unl.pt) Imre Rudas, Budapest Polytechnic (Rudas@bmf.hu)
